This is a very large pie safe that dates from the 1800's or earlier. The exterior as well as the shelves (two on each side) and the back are made of walnut. The tin is a bit uneven in some places and there is some slight rusting as well. It appears to have been made by hand, as the legs and tin are just different enough to indicate that they were not made by machine. Everything seems to be original, except the latch on the right door. The original milk paint is still visible in some places. There are keyholes on booth doors, but the hardware is missing.
Rembrandt signed oil portrait on canvas. The portrait is a lady wearing a red necklace and is in excellent condition. The frame which is obviously very old is very ornate with two areas chipped at corners.
