This set was given to me by someone who was about to just throw it out! When someone suggested to me that it may be a Duncan Phyfe set, I started to do some research. However, I cant determine a way to know for certain whether or not this set is genuine. It definately has some quality craftsmanship: it is heavy and sturdy. Unfortunately, I cannot find any markings. The table does not include a leaf, but looks like it did at some point. It has 2 pedistals which hold it up on either side with what looks like brass feet. The table top does have some scratches/chipping. The chairs are in wonderful condition. There are 6 total and one is a "captain's chair" with arms. The upholstered seats appear to be original with normal wear, but no damage (possibly some fading and a little thin around the edges from sitting). All 6 chairs are extremely sturdy with no damage that I've noticed. There are no markings that I can find, just some chalk numbers scribbled underneath the table top and chairs, possibly to match the pieces during manufacturing?
