Antique Eastlake Cottage Dresser

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

This dresser is in the Eastlake style with handpainted floral decoration of each of the three front drawers. It has the circular dowel pin construction instead of dovetailing in the drawers. It has metal castor wheels. This is pretty much all I know about it. Someone had suggested to me that it may be a 1920's piece done in the Eastlake style but I think it may be older. Please help me date this piece and also what type of wood was used in this dresser, as I don't have a clue.

Porcelian vase from the St. Louis World's Fair 1904

Category
China
Condition
Fair
Description

My father got this but I don't know where or why. The vase has The Saint Louis World's Fair 1904 on it with a picture labeled as a USGovernment Building. I do know that at some point years ago, approx 60 years ago, some one afford my dad a very good price for it but my Dad declined.

My mother accidentally dropped some things on it and broke the back in several places. She glued it back together. It is not real noticeable but I am sure the damage greatly affects the price.

I have tried to find out more info on this for years. You would think that something as prominent as a World's Fair there would be all kinds of information about items from the fair.

Oberammergau Spoon

Category
General Antiques and Collectibles
Condition
Good
Description

My son and I found this spoon at a yard sale in California. The spoon looks to be silver and has a sunflower at one end of the handle.  The bowl of the spoon is stamped with "Oberammergau".  Oberammergau is a town in Bavaria known for it's passion play, which began as a vow by the villagers in 1634 when God spared their village from the bubonic plague.  On the back of the flower is stamped "800" plus some other letters that I cannot make out.  I don't have a magnifying glass to see it clearly.  Other than that info, I know nothing about this spoon.  We bought it as a gift for my son's friend who collects spoons.  I thought it would be nice to include some information about the gift.  The spoon is not for sale.  I just want some info on it if possible. (Approximate age, value, etc.)
