The Grant is an orginal copy of the land grant given to the Allen Brothers from the Mexican Government. The area given is around the houston area. My friend has worked for southern railroad, and they were going through some old file owned by the bussniess and found this reallly old document. If there is a chance its worth anything i can give you a more detailed description on it.
Inscription to henry B. stanton; this volume is inscribed as a token of the authors personal friendship, and of his respect for the unreserved devotion of exaulted talents to the cause of humanity and freedom.
This is only one of several teacups and saucers that I've been blessed to receive from my grandmother. Each set is different than the other. Most are numbered and most are made in England. I know that I am English in heritage several generations ago. This one is printed with the year 1789 and is the reason I chose it for this appraisal. Also this one has been hand numbered and trimmed in gold.
In our efforts to make room for baby we need to unload this sturdy, functional, and lovely desk. It is in really great shape, though a little worn at the front and with well used drawers. We inherited this from my husband's grandmother who lived in St. Louis MO. She had an excellent eye for art and furniture. In addition to your expert appraisal advice I would appreciate any ideas on selling this piece so it finds a good and respeciatble home, I hate to see it go.
