The statue depicts a magician entertaining a man and his son while a young girl (the magician's assistant) has fallen asleep, obviously bored at having seen the rabbit pulled from the hat many times before. The spectators appear totally baffled by the magician's skill- but if the statue is viewed from the back, part of his magical secret is revealed. The magician's apprentice is apparently hiding under the table, and is secretly handing the magician a dove! (See arrow).
Set of 4 Nichols and Stone bow back side chairs with vase pierced backsplat. The chairs are stamped on the bottom by Nichols and Stone, Gardner Mass and have the numbers 750 stamped on them as well. The chairs are large with large seats and additional seat braces. The legs are turned and the chairs have 4 leg braces on the bottom. The sticker on the bottom is yellow and says Home of Windsor, 721 - 750.
Photos aren't the greatest, but they should give an idea of condition, style of chair. We know it is an H. Krug chair (not from 1913, as the catalogue from that year is viewable online). Hoping to find out the year of manufacture and any idea of the value. Happy to answer any questions we can. Thanks!
