Primitive ? Sheffield ? Electro Plate Copper Silver Spoon EPCS

Category
Silver and Silver Overlay
Condition
Fair
Description

I have these three 4" long spoons. They were acquired in an estate lot some time ago. Their construction seems primitive / simplistic to me - and I am assuming from my research that the EPCS mark is Electro Plated Copper Silver. An "AI" appears to be following the EPCS. I've had them for several years in a basket on my desk holding pens. I'm wondering what they are, when they are from and if they have any value at all to collectors.

Victorian Vesta

Category
Silver and Silver Overlay
Condition
Excellent
Description

Bearing the full set of hallmarks for Birmingham 1896. This is an attractive engraved Vesta, in PERFECT condition with no dints, bumps, scratches or blemishes of any kind. It measures a neat 45 x 25 mm approx., this includes the top holding rings. It is beautifully engraved on both front and back with the traditional foliate design, having a large vacant round cartouche centre set on the front. The hinge is firm and tight and the spring works effectively so that the Vesta opens neatly and shuts with a satisfying snap!! The striker is as it was when made and the suspension ring at the top is unworn.

The VESTA was fully English Hallmarked for Sterling Silver in BIRMINGHAM in 1896, (Lion Passant for Sterling Silver, Anchor for Birmingham office and italic low case date letter 'w' for 1896).Makers marks are 'CS*FS'

Antique Anthony Quervelle Sofa

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Fair
Description

I have been trying to research this sofa and several people in New Orleans told me it was made by Anthony Quervelle. The upholstery has been redone (not correctly) and I have not found a label or mark on the frame but the entire shape is amazingly similar to a maker's label I have seen of Quervelle's and the incredably carved dolphin sides and feet are almost identical to the legs I've seen on two Quervelle tables. Some of the veneer has obtained damage from water during Katrina. Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who can verify whether or not this is in fact a Quervelle piece and the possible value?Quervelle LabelQuervelle Tables
