Description

This is a 3D metal two dollar bill, complete with metal Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's plantation). Nothing is on the back side.

Posted on Reddit, and thoughts were that it's modeled after the 1929 new, smaller two dollar bill. Perhaps it was promotional art for the new bill.

I have spent way to much time on this (humor) What I think you have is a ONEZY.(one of a kind) art work.. by taking a closer look at the way it was assembled. As an artest myself and a welder, this looks like something I would have made.. But I would have signed it somewhere,,

PRICE? Don't have a clue......If I was selling this my first thought was $500.00 and go from there..

Thats the best I have...Good Luck!

can you tell me if the dollar on the front is painted or sticker,or print? (look  for print dots) also is there cut marks on the circle? looks like someone cut it out? also does it hang on the wall or stand up by itself?

Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to help me with this item.

The piece is quite rusted so I don't see any markings or artist's signature. And it's hard to tell, but the markings seem printed because there are no flaws whatsoever. It looks too perfect. I think I may have seen dots but it was very hard to tell. Same with the cut circle, it was done too perfectly. Perhaps an artist took their time with it or used a machine to cut the metal. It has two circles on the back to be hung.

I'm a newbie to selling antiques, so I'm not quite sure how to go about selling this one, especially because it's a "onezy". I've contacted a few auction houses in Los Angeles where I live, but it all takes time. Maybe Ebay is an option, but I'm not sure. I'd hate to underprice it, because I don't know enough about the item.

Thank you again!
