Bohemian Spa Ruby and Clear Glass Beaker

By phate008, 5 January, 2011
Description

I know that this is an old Bohemian spa glass. I am not sure of its origin or manufacturer or how much it cost. The base is heavy which I am told is a symbol of its age. 1860's? The design on this piece is unique as I have not seen to many like it. The other ones I have seen do not have as much ruby coloring as this one. This one only has a few clears spots and it for the majority almost all ruby glass. There are 5 etching in the piece, which I dont know if you can read in the pictures but I have a hard time reading it in person because its obviously German. There is a very small chip on the rim, and a scratch on one of the clear spots of glass but otherwise this piece is in near mint condition. Any help or information on this piece would be greatly appreciated. Price? History? What do the initials J.F. mean? Manufacturer? Owner? Thanks.
