The first loud talking Telephone

By SheriL, 17 July, 2015
Description

I am trying to find help to verify if this item may be of value or worthy of being in a museum.  Our family has had this item since the 60's and we are wondering if THE ELECTROD (The first loud talking telephone) may be part of TELEPHONE history ?My grandfather Sidney Karnow i(along with Abbot and Costello in the picture) was involved back in the early 40's to help the campaign when it was being manufactured by Teletronix Engineering of North Hollywood, California. I have both pieces that are shown in the picture and they are in really good shape.

History

I inherited from my grandfather Sidney Karnow.

I am trying to find help to verify if this item (the first loud talking telephone) may be of value or worthy of being in a museum.

(PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTO)

It was apparently invented by the same engineer who developed the Walkie Talkie.
And, the patent was sold for $100 back in 1941.

Our family has had this item since the 50's and we are wondering if "THE ELECTROD" may be part of TELEPHONE history.

My grandfather (Sidney Karnow who is in the picture with Abbot and Costello) was involved back in the early 40's to help the campaign when it was being manufactured by Teletronix Engineering in North Hollywood, California at that time.

Abbott and Costello were used in the advertising campaign to market the Electrod.

I look forward to your response and guidance.

I have both pieces and they are in good condition.
