Grandma's Heirlooms

By Paulette Ann, 31 August, 2013
Description

This teacup and saucer is pale blue with gold flowers.  The teacup has a gold handle and three gold feet.  It weighs 222 grams.  It is 6.5cm high. and the saucer is 15cm round.  It is very thin bone china.  It is marked onthe bottom of both the cup and saucer "Fine China Made in Japan 2355"  There is a pattern surrounding these words that has leaf at the bottom and what appears to be a crown on the top.  The Cruet Set weighs 371 grams. It is EPNS, and cut glass.  It stands 12cm high and 10cm at the base.  It has a top that seems to be for salt and pepper and a little bowl, perhaps for sauce.

        History
This teacup and saucer and cruet set belonged to my Grandmother. She was born in 1908 and married in 1938, both in Wickepin, Western Australia. One of these gifts was a 21st birthday present and the other a wedding gift, both from her parents. It has been forgotten over time, which present was for which event.
