Heywood Wakefield Desk

By mel.junior, 19 October, 2013
Description

There's nothing like the design of a Heywood Wakefield desk. Those curves and its simplicity make it a classic. The top drawer is the full width of the desk for added storage. Good condition. Well constructed. No particle board and no veneers. Made of solid birch in original wheat finish. There's a few marks on the top, but they can easily be hidden or removed with some minor refinishing.

History
Some of the best Heywood Wakefield pieces were the desks and since not everyone had an office or den in their home, these are harder to find. One of Heywood's most successful items was this style of desk. It is extremely functional as the entire piece consists of drawers. It features a full width top drawer with 2 dividers, 2 drawers on the left and 3 drawers on the right. The bottom left drawer is deep file drawer with divider. It also has a finished back so that it can sit out in the middle of the room.
