Japanese Porcelain?

Description

This vase was made into a lamp in my grandmother's era.  We took it into a shop to buy a new lampshade and it happened to be an antique shop.  The owner of the shop was very impressed by the piece.  I believe she said there were two 'families' of Japanese porcelain, and that this was a very nice piece.  I could be wrong about 'families', whether it's porcelain, or the country, as this was a while ago. My pictures aren't very good but I can provide better if necessary.  I note there is one place where a repair has been made - the handle, and there is a good picture of this.  Please advise of any information you have about this. or it's value.  She didn't seem to think that having made it into a lamp hurt its value, and said it was a very nice job.  I'm ignorant about all of it.  Thank you.
