I have sent you photo scans of the vessel in which is in my possession. My Uncle had given it to me as a gift when he came back from Japan.
He had found it whilst he was excavating land in Nagoya Japan. Once they had stubbled across the tomb or temple below ground, excavation was stopped and Japanese historians closed off the area for further investigations.
Originally when I received the vase he had not told me this story, but two years ago he had asked me if I still have the vessel and then concluded with this explanation of what had happened. That many years ago.
Please take a look and get back to me.
The size of the vessel is about 90cm in height if that helps. The colouring orginal was black but I have polished it up to show this colour the inside still has the original colouring and black hard stubstance inside.

Rekha
Please feel welcome to call me on 61397931336 if you see anything of interest. The main reason for valuation is because I would like to know more histroy on this vessel. I am very intrigued about the history in China and Japan. It is so full of such richness.
Thank You for you time.
Re: Japanese Vase
Such pieces from Archaeological digs really need a physical examination to determine their origins and authenticity. It's very unfortunate that you have polished them, the dark coloration was a form of patina they were meant to have, which has now been destroyed.
