It is an heirloom that was shipped from Louisiana to Nevada, It was damaged in shipping and I need an appraisal on the undamaged item for my insurance claim. For an insurance claim, you need to get a WRITTEN evaluation from a professional so anything you get here is going to be of limited value. Sorry, that's going to involve you paying for the eval.
That said, if you go to PBS.ORG and search you will see that the 'antiques road show' has evaluated a couple of these boxes and you might be able to use that evaulation to support whatever evaluation you get from whomeaver you get as your evaluator.
Just a thought.

If you are looking for a baseline value, you might want to search liveauctioneers.com, just do a search for "Cylinder music boxes". Any that are currently up for auction or sold within the last eight years or so will be listed
