Description One is marked London Scottish Volunteers, 2 3/4" long Other has no words, just the lion, 2 1/4" long Not sure if these are ribbon holders since the lion would be upside down if ribbon attached at top. They don't seem like belt buckles because there is no hook in back, unless they are made for a web belt.

These look like two pieces that fit together (Lion slides up and into the center hole of the outer ring and the two lock together) and hold a belt around the waist. Seeing as how this is for a military unit there may have also been another part of this belt that goes up diagonally to go under a shoulder strap and back down to to the belt. It's probably brass not bronze, and not knowing if there are any hallmarks or other identification markings on the back makes it hard to date. The two pieces as they are could bring between $20.00 to $50.00
