"Pennsylvania Dutch Lap Board" is written calligraphically in navy blue on the main side of this lapboard/game board, which measures 29 inches long by 19 inches wide, and is made of wood.
Also written on the main and flip sides of the board, respectively, are the following phrases, as seen in the photos: "It wonders me" ___ "Mom, when the Little Red Box comes then the train is All - Aint?" ___ "The bell don't make - bump;" ___ "It makes something down like a drizzle" ___ "It's your move - Aint?" ___ "He comes the gate in" ___ "Don't be so dopple" ___ "I must go spritz " ___ "Make the door shut". In small white paint on the checkerboard side of the lapboard the following is printed: "SOLE DIST. FULTON SALES CORP. LANC PA."
It is in good condition, but has a few dings from use, and there's -- an imperceptible, and structurally inconsequential -- crack in the wood on the bottom left-hand side.
I would greatly appreciate any information or insight on this item any of you may have.
With thanks, in advance!
