Vintage 3/4 bedroom set, marble inlaid dresser, writing table w/chair

By Perreault7032, 14 August, 2007
Description

The bed is 3/4 size and is 7ft long.  Made for 13 slats.  High headboard.  Has side rails.  All orginial.  Dresser is 7 ft tall, has marble inserts.  4 ft wide.  Also have one drawer matching writing table that has had one hardware replaced on the drawer.  Also has chair.  Evrything appears to be in orginial condition except for the one piece of hardware on the writing table.  I have enclosed a picture of the headboard, and 2 pictures of the dresser, one of the mirrior top and one of the bottom.  I have no idea what this set is called, what the wood is, how old it is and the value.

Your suite is in the

Your suite is in the Eastlake style , which was popular from the 1870's- 90's. Originally it's finish would have been a good deal darker in color than it is now. Like most large Victorian pieces values are not what they one were in the late 1990's. Today comparable suites sell at auction for less than $1500.00.
