Re: old milk pitcher??
Unmarked items can be more difficult to trace in terms of their origin, but you can often make an educated guess based on styling and decoration technique. This is transfer ware from the late 1800's I beleive. W/o seeing it in person I cant be positive.
Johnson Bros, Hanley Ltd opened in about 1883 and this looks like one of their castle scenes. A few potters did castle scenes but the trim on this looks like JB. JB did a series called " Old Britain Castles" and still produce it today but not in England.
There is not a complete listing of all the Johnson Brothers patterns because the company did not keep records until modern times, and no one knows how many patterns are out there.
Not being marked could hurt value as most people like to see a mark. There is also a LOT of porcelain on the market right now.I think $35.00 - 50.00. I collect it and that's all i would pay going by what i have given in the past.
