Description
I have Chinese (?) bird cage/house that I inherited from my mother who got it from her mother who got it from her sister who was an antique dealer. i am curious how much it is worth, debating about selling itdue to lack of space and worry about breaking it. Any help that you could provide would be much appreciated.
Re: Chinese Porcelain Birdcage
The mark translates to "Ya Wan Zhen Cang (Delicate Collectable Precious Treasure)" This mark was used in the mid 20th Century. and is loosely designed on antique cages...so around 1950..It does appear to be missing its front door though or it was a made for decorative use only and not really to hold birds. .Its a nice hard to find piece though and the larger size is a plus...I'd price it around $75-100.
