English drawleaf table and chairs

By EVF, 7 June, 2013
Description

I bought these together but I doubt they were originally made as a dining set. I've looked at a few websites including this one to better date the table. There are no tags or stamps on either the table or chairs, though there are some handwritten numbers (in chalk? but it looks like that might just be either for measurements or maybe pricing?). I've looked at another drawleaf table and under the table was a wood brace where the prongs of the leaves go through; mine has metal. I don't know if that helps with dating the piece. My best guess has been between 1900-1950 for the table. If anyone could give a better date, that'd be great.

As for the chairs, I don't know anything about them but I'd like to know how old they may be.

Re: English drawleaf table and chairs

I found this auction website: http://www.ogallerie.com/auctions/2006-10/index_10.shtml that was selling chairs very similar to what I show on the pics above. It says that the chairs were made c. 1900. How reliable is that date?
