40 piece Nagoya Nippon dinnerware/china/porcelin/tea set

By boehmerc, 15 August, 2013
Description

There are 6 tea cups, 1 large dish, 1 large platter, 6 saucers, 6 small bowls, 9 large plates, 10 small plates, and 1 tea pot. im not sure if its a tea pot because it has handles on both sides and a small removable lid on the top. I cannot find this anywhere on the web and its nagoya nippon stamped on the back of the base with the crown piece with the large initials NS. it has green oriental lanterns going around the top of every piece with a green solid line going around the top as well. its inbetween good and excellent condition. i found on a couple websites that a plate alone of this exact set sells for $10 dollars each. i really need to know if i stumbled upon something and how much this entire 40 piece set is actually worth. i would really like to know asap so i can get this advertised. thank you so much!

p.s.    i did see on one of the sites they call this pattern 684? but when i would try to search for it nothing would come up. so im not sure if its a typo or what happened. just an fyi for ya.

Re: 40 piece Nagoya Nippon dinnerware/china/porcelin/tea set

Values for 20th century dinner services have been in decline since the late 1990's. The market has been flooded by estate clearances and the down sizing of the Baby Boom generation, who've been dumping their parents and grandparents pottery, porcelain and silverware into auctions. Whole sets like this often sell for under $200.00.
