Japanese (chinese?) symbol brass knobs on closet. signature?

I have these Asian pulls that were on closets in a house I bought. Orginal to house built in 1986. They are brass I think, not sure what symbol means or if there is a signature on back or numbers? what do you think? What do i have here? thanks!
