M.C Lilley & Co. Sword

I have a sword made by M.C. & Lilley & Co. in Columbus Ohio. There is a name engraved on it, JS Gillmore. I researched the name and it came back he was a confederate thirteenth calvary in the civil war. I hope this is true. I need some help please.
