Antique Gallon Glass Syrup Jugs Grapico Co. and Old Colony Co.

By KevinLisaEllis, 4 December, 2011
Description

 Hello,

Our names are Kevin and Lisa Ellis,
We have been searching online for information on the attached pictured jugs. We have been told they are extemely rare and that there is a slim chance of finding abundant information about them. We were hoping that you could inform us of their background and value as our second opinion. The first opinion was shocking. Since we are from Alabama and my mother (Lisa) was born in Illinios we are interested in any information you may have about them. At his time we are not sure if we want to sell these jugs. Thank you so very much for your time and we hope to hear great news from you soon.
Kevin and Lisa Ellis

The 4 jugs within the attachment are labeled to be from Old Colony Syrup out of Evanston Illinios (Clear jugs). and Grapico Company out ofBirmingham Alabama (amber jugs).

First we have a cardboard case that states the same name "Old Colony Syrup Company" With a picture of a colonial man holding a (looks like) wine glass. The box is old and has two of its closing top flaps left on it with the section insert inside seperating the 4 jugs.

One Amber Glass jug is fully upright Green and white label That States "Orangico Beverage, Fountain syrup"  shake well before using, Flavor from the Grapico Co. of America, Inc. Contains Orange Juice and Orange Oils, Water, Sugar, U.S.P certified. Color less Than 1/10 of 1% Sodium Benzoate. Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use. Use 1 part syrup with 5 parts Plain or Carbonated Water. Net contents: One US Gallon. The Grapico Bottling Company Birmingham Alabama.

One Amber Glass jug Has the exact same information as the Orangico except it states the flavor as Grapico, Label is Purple and white.

The other two jugs are the clear Glass jugs with labels upsidedown on the jug when sitting on the shelf.
One label on one jug is torn and the other jugs label is complete not torn but aged.
These labels state: Old Colony at the top (Red Banner white Letters) of the label followed by Imitation Wild Cherry Flavored Fountain Syrup. Contains: Sugar, syrup, Citric Acid, Artificial Color, Artificial Flavoring. 1/10% Sodium Benzoate. Net Contents: 128 fluid ounces (1 US Gallon). Use 1 part syrup with 5 parts plain or carbonated water. Keep in cool Place. Shake well before use. At the bottom in gray area is states "Crush International Inc. Evanston Illiinios U.S.A
