I recently purchased these French Country Armchairs at an estate sale. I thought they were beautiful, but have no idea who made them or how much they are worth. Thanks in advance for your help.
The style of your chairs is what's referred to as "French Provincial", a simplified version of 18th Century Louis XV furniture. This style was extremely popular, produced during the turn of the 19th Century, the 1930's and again in the 1960's. Furniture of this style was also produced by nearly every major North American furniture manufacturer. The style has most recently been revived as " French Country" and is still in production as French Provincial. Without actually physically examining pieces like this it's impossible to determine their vintage, but these do appear to be pieces dating from the third quarter of the 20th Century.
I bought a chair like yours for $120 about 20 years ago from a small antique store. The seller assured me it was a good price. It was reupholstered very well. Measures approximately 24"x20"x26". I found a similar item on LiveAuctioneers in June 2019 for $250. Hope this helps!
