Ceramic wall sconce

Description

The back of the sconce have an impression in the ceramic that seems to say "patented 149144" vary faint impression. Other than the colored brush stroke mark on the back, no other artist mark or indentification. They were recieved as a housewarming gift 30+ yrs ago and were claimed to be valuable antique at the time

For one , they are not antique, it's unlikely they predate the 1940's.They are very similar to wall sconces made by California Potteries and pieces out of Japan that sell for under $75.00.

Hello, Here is some information for you: This wall pocket was made by the Ohio Porcelain Company in Zanesville Ohio. They purchased the design from Clifford Potts in March 1948.
