Description
I believe this table was built sometime from the 1890s to 1910. It was purchased by my great grandparents when they lived on a farm in Nebraska. It is stamped H Wessel Nehawka Nebraska. There’s also a stamp in the wood: 138. It is quartersawn oak, 54 inches wide closed, there are five leaves that range from 8.75 inches wide to 9 inches wide, making the table approximately 98” inches wide with all the leaves. The top is .75 inches thick. The table and a few of the the chairs have been refinished as well as one of the leaves. I’m thinking about selling it, and I’m trying to find a value. I haven’t been able to find any information on H Wessel in Nebraska.

I don’t have an ancestry.com subscription but I wonder if that could help you identify H Wessel.
Re: Antique split pedestal table H Wessel Nebraska
You have the date right, it's in the Empire Revival style, which was popular from the turn of the 19th Century through to World War One (1914). Sadly the demand and values for tables like this have declined enormously since their peak in the late 1980's, often listing for over $1000.00 with a matching set of chairs. Comparable tables now often sell for under $350.00
