Description
This furniture set was my wife's grand mother's It was purchased in early 1900 and delivered to their home in Grand Forks North Dakota. All the furniture is well-worn and there is some damage (broken spindles). The paint is peeling in some places. It is clear that the furniture is well made, and I am trying to determine if there is a financial value as well as sentimental, that would justify restoring. The set includes the following: Full sized bed with head and footboards, dresser, dressing table, night stand, and chair. If anyone can shed additional light on the manufacturer and potential value, it would be greatly appreciated.

Based on your images, your suite dates from the first quarter of the 20th century and is in the Federal Revival style. Federal Revival pieces are reproductions of the original American Colonial items originally produced from 1620-1780. The style first became popular after the first Centennial of the American Revolution in 1876, but pieces like this were made right up until World War Two (1939). At that time interest and demand for original Colonial & Federal furnishings was so great it outstripped supply. Large manufacturers to begin production of pieces in the Colonial style from the Jacobean to early Georgian periods. Furniture like this last peaked in value during the late 1980's, currently the cost of restoration for this set would easily exceed its value.
