Re: Marswells Dominion Stove Co. Penetanc. Ont.
I have had the exact stove in my house for 18 years , i bought mine from a lady in Sooke BC for 1000.00 , I had to strip it to the frame and sand blast / painted all the black metal parts , rechromed some parts ...someone had converted it to use stove oil , ( sooty , smelly) I then converted to burn propane ...i used an old BBQ burner in mine, and it cooks great ..control valves are mounted on the lh side where the propane line comes into what was the ash box , i placed plate steel around the burner as a heat sink and the oven reaches 350 degrees slowly , but its pretty much imposible to " burn " anything as the heat is even and constant
i would place a value on mine at 2500.00 . of coarce its not original ,( and i have no water tank option ... but its in operational condition.... and clean
a " mint " Marswells stove , in original , wood burning trim with good chrome ..complete with the matching water tank , i would value aqt 5000 ( canadian dollars)
