Hard white metal coffee urn. From paddle wheeler salvaged by Corp of Engineers, St. Louis, Mo. for the metal during WWII.
Urn has The name "H G Wright" engraved on one side. Other side of urn has engraving but is not complete. Supposedly Capt H G Wright was the captain of U. S Grants flagship on the Mississippi. This information came from an attendant at the Jefferson Barracks Museum in St. Louis.
Urn has markings on bottom "HARD WHITE METAL", 230, MIDDLETOWN PLATE QUADRUPLE PLATE. Along the inside rim of the base are the markings 1624 with initials TOD.
Urn has been used. Appears to have no silver plating left. The interior has been soldered in three places and the lid hinge has been soldered.
