I have two chairs that may be Art Deco. There is a metal plate on both that identify them as from the Drake Hotel NYC. They are fabric upholstered and have a carved wooden rail across the top, almost carved to resemble bamboo. How old are they, if know. And, do they have any value?
7 1/2" high by 9 1/2" wide (tip of spout to end of handle).
Floral on front with flowers, berries and a yellow butterfly.
Reverse side has while flower with green leaves and berries and yellow butterfly aflight on lower left corner....top right corner of reverse side has yellow butterfly on stem.
Marking on bottom (pic enclosed) is an oval with a' K' and underneath 'the K' KNOWLES.
Below that reads: T.M. U.S.A. 50
Slight crazing on reverse as well as interior.
Chip on underside of handle (not noticable)
This was my Grandmothers (born in 1800's and died in 1950's).
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated
Curious as to the value of this table and chairs. Table extends from 4 ft to 6 ft to 8 ft. It has 5 legs. Has 6 chairs with it...chairs had leather seats stuffed with horse hair. Only markings on bottom of table...NO 347 8 FT. Belonged to my father who purchased it at an auction. Believe it to be at least 100 years old.
