Bronze Pot Planter with Copper Inlay Hand Hammered No Markings

Category
Decorative Arts
Condition
Good
Description

I found this piece in Egypt about twenty years ago. It appears to be hand hammered bronze with an scallop effect at the brim. Just recently uncovered it again and I am curious about its origins. I can't quite identify the period or decor to a specific period. The detailed ornateness of the bronze pot tells me that it may not be as old as I had once assumed. It is a bronze pot/planter with scenes of gazelle and elephants and lions with palms and other trees in the background. Attached to the piece are very ornate copper embelishments of "indigenous" people dancing and playing instruments. These copper embelishments are attached to the piece to the inside with folded tabs. I have taken detailed pictures of the item in hopes that someone may help identify either a period or place of origin for the piece as I have been unable to find anything similar to it as of yet althought some aspects of it remind me of Pakistani or Indian tooling. I am simply unsure. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
