vintage crazy quilt

Category
Folk Art
Condition
Excellent
Description

This is a beautifully designed and executed quilt with virtually no fading, wear, or damage of any kind. Typically these quilts were made in America during the second part of the 19th Century. This one is unusual in that it is not made in sections but is all of one piece. The quilt is also unusually large at almost 9 by 9 feet. It would be beautiful on a bed as a spread or as a wall hanging. Although it is in almost perfect condition and the interesting design is put together very smoothly, the seamtress who finished the quilt backing lacks in fineness of stitchery. I doubt she is the one who put together the quilt squares. There is obviously no doubt that this quilt is hand made.

The colors are bright with at least half the squares made of velvet, silk, and satin. The rest are cotton. Bright red, blue and black are the dominant velvet colors and make the quilt very striking. The other colors are more subtle. Other than small flower cotton prints, most of the squares are solid in color. The notable exceptions are several squares that feature small figures of sailors and cowboys. It is truly an interesting and beautiful conversation piece and work of art.

Pianorgan

Category
Music and Music Instruments
Condition
Excellent
Description

I have a pianorgan that was left to me by my aunt which she purchased in the early 1940's.  The namePianorgan is shown on the front and a Product of Farfisa is shown.  It is in excellent condition and playswell.  It looks like magahony wood and has 2 legs with one pedal.  It has note buttons on the end and a cover to use certain buttons when playing.  Would like to know what it's value is.  May be interested in selling it at a later date.
