"I have a cane that reads To: William Henry Vanderbilt From: E.G.H. Feb.28 1882 . The top is probably gold and hand written with alot of detail and perfect cond. The cane part looks O.K. but been weathered. Who would E.G.H. be? How much would it be worth(being gold or not)?

Dear Sir,

I own two collections of old furniture having at least 50years for living room and bedroom. Each collection is complete having many pieces (coffee table, tea table, eating table, window, 2 types of chair with 8 pieces, etc.).

The furniture i inherited from my uncle wich was working for the former comunist president of Romania. I am interested in finding an approximate value for it as i decided to sell it. I would really appreciate it if you can help me before i contact an auction house or any other method.
