made of solid mahogany wood, individual pane glass doors with three shelves, bottom pull out drawer, wooden cupboard doors opening up with 2 shelves within
Made of wood and has not been restored. Believe, I was once told that it crafted in Italy but not sure. It has been displayed in my home for at least 40yrs.
I have a picture that states it was given to Charles Penrose of the Newcomen Society. The picture is of a women in a bathing suit and she has signed the picture, " To my devoted and affectionate friend, Char. Penrose in appreciation of his efforts in bringing The 1919 Sandoor Outing to "our show" at The Chestnut Street Theatre June 19, 1919"Signed Elsie B. Ware
On the back of the frame is a letter that was taped that reads:
"To Whom It May Concern",
THIS IS TO CERTIFY, that the undersigned witnessed with surprise, not mixed with regret, the delivery of the attached photograph and momento of the alluring and charming Water Nymph pictured, to Mr. Charles Penrose at a sober and sedate dinner at the Engineers Club on the evening of June 18, 1919. As member of a respectful community, we renounce responsibility in regard to any complications which may result from the affair, so unexpectedly disclosed to us.
Witnessed our hand this the nineteenth day of June, 1919." <END of LETTER>
It has been notarized and singed by 8 individuals. I am not able to make out all of the names but a few are: John A. Pewhurst?,Harold T. Moore, DH Moore and more.
This is a large painting signed Lee Reynolds. On the back it has the # 60554 and the name "DANCING HORSES"....... I have only seen one other painting similar but it was split into 2 paintings and the coloring was lighter. Any ifo will help Thanks
We bought this dining table and chairs at a used furniture store in Southport, England (about 7-8 yrs ago)when we lived there, we paid about 300 UK pounds for it at the time.It is a very nice solid wood table, maybe Mahogany or walnut not sure, we believe it is an antique replica. Possibly Cabriole legs ornate with ball and claw feet, carvings of (acanthus?)leaves and flowers. The chairs are padded (removable)and have a tan flowered material on them. may be Chippendale style. the top of the table comes unscrewed from the base.We have outgrown the table for 4 and we were thinking of selling it, we are wondering how much we should get for it? It has had one of the chair backs broken but we repaired it as well as we could. It has a few dents in the table top(no stain missing though), but overall is in beautiful shape. Thank you.
