Unusual P. J. Redoute Print??

Category
Paintings
Condition
Fair
Description

I have taken this painting/print out of its frame to have a closer look at it.

I know it sounds ridiculous but it doesnt appear to be a print.   I have read that a prints tell tale sign is that under magnification "dots" appear.  This doesnt happen with this item.  All you see is the texture of the paper showing through the pigment.

The paper is very heavily textured .. also something not normally used for a print, and has what looks like a cardboard backing.

Its faded considerably ... but then Van Goghs "vase of pink roses" is now a vase of white roses .. so pigment damage is a possibility.

There's also a small inscription on the back very difficult to make out but I'm reasonably certain its written in French ... and as far fetched as it sounds .. the handwriting looks incredibly similar to the handwriting in a Redoute letter I found while searching the internet.

I know the chance of "finding" a long lost original are billions to one .. so I'm thinking that maybe there is some other explanation for the oddities of this item that I'm unaware of ... I'd certainly love any feedback you could give me.

Thankyou.

turquoise and silver rosary

Category
Silver and Silver Overlay
Condition
Good
Description

looks crudely molded and mishapen 59 beads 5 of which are round aside from the metal break it is in amazing condition balls which have designs and appear to be silver. it has black tarnish on the metal and the turquise appears to be kings tourquise you cannot see the string holding togeher because it is wrapped with silver long almost oval beads. it has a crusifix with a 3d jesus but again lacks detail on each side but does show black tarnish. the center oval is mary and same as before with the crusifix is mishapen and crude. there is a definate lack of any silver, artist or markings of any kind. the metal is shinier on the center and crusifix may be different silver than the other. it is so soft on the crusifix that it broke off above jesus' head and under the inri but is complete otherwise and both pieces are here
