Unknown Oil Painting

Category
Paintings
Condition
Excellent
Description

I assume this is an oil painting even though I don't smell oil.

I received it as a gift from a friend who has since passed, and have no idea how she obtained it.

Zephyr Roulette compact

Category
Silver and Silver Overlay
Condition
Fair
Description

The wheel actually turns around. Material is metal with a black lacquer look. It measures 2-1/2" in diameter. There pieces of missing enamel on the top rim and on the bottom, top is excellent as well as color on the wheel. Interior is nice, has a piece marked Zephyr and does not have it's puff. That lifts up to reveal where the make up use to be. The mirror has a tiny spot but is intact.

Antique Japanese Tea Vessel/Caddy

Category
Asian Art
Condition
Excellent
Description

I am told this is an antique tea caddy/vessel that would have been used during the Japanese tea ceremony. It was obtained by my husband's great grandfather in Japan during the early 1900's but may be older than that. There are two pieces that sit one on top of the other. The matrial is some sort of metal that is painted a brown/maroon color with intricate swirling designs on the outside and the interior is a deep aqua color. The piece include a metal screen with tiny holes for making the tea and a small metal spoon.  I could not find any markings anywhere on the piece. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
