I am not entirely too sure what this picture is of; however, before my dad passed away he said that it was the devil and a virgin. Something like that. The pomegranates are there because of the greek mythology thing with Hades and Persephone where Hades tricked her into eating 4 pomegranate seeds. The ID on the blue and white sheet of paper is "CBS.6029.516"
The container is filled with 86 proof jim beam whiskey that was aged 100 months prior to bottling. The words are raised on the bottle and the red seal is unbroken.
Does anyone know the value of this coverlet? I believe it was woven by Bartlett French for Mary Eastman.. possibly in 1835. The item has been passed down in our family. We have no relation to either the weaver Mr. French or to Mary Eastman. I'm not sure where it was originally purchased.
I am not sure if I would like to sell this lock, as it does hold a lot of sentimental value; but I would like to know how much it may be worth? I do not have/ cannot find the key for the lock- but it appears to be in very good condition- no scratches, just needs a little clean up!
