Hanging bronze cross with figure holding skull

Category
General Antiques and Collectibles
Condition
Excellent
Description

This is a hanging piece and has two little cups on either side of the main arms of the cross.  The cups appear newer than the rest.  The main part of the cross is fairly crudely cut or formed metal and appears to be cut not molded.  The figure in the middle seems to be holding a skull in one hand and a sword in the other... though it also looks a bit like a goblet with something coming out of the side of the head and streaming into it, can't tell.  There are small circles stamped all over the piece.  The center circle consists of two pieces joined together and slightly convex, joined with little bits of wire through holes.  Don't know what this is exactly.  the little cups wiggle around so don't think they could hold a candle, maybe incense?  Would love to know what this is...

French Silver bowl

Category
Silver and Silver Overlay
Condition
Excellent
Description

Quite heavy, tarnishing looks like silver.  Swirl pattern is well etched into it.  Sits flat on table with 1 3/4 in. round opening on top.  On flat bottom has "082" stamped into it.  Can barely make out four seams on the sides and a seam on the rim where it is joined but is all very finely finished.  Have no clue what it is or how old it is or what it is worth.

First edition of Reminiscences of Confederate Service by Francis W Dawson 1882 1 of 100 copies

Category
Books and Manuscripts
Condition
Fair
Description

Only one of my pictures was less than 2mb.  If this turns out to be a worthwhile item, I can email my other pictures or figure out how to take more and keep them below 2mb.  The outside of the book is kind of dirty and has possible water damage.  The pages are all intact, show their age, and a few have minor tears.  I'm not sure how this would grade, so between Good, Fair and Poor, I picked Fair.  I'm just trying to find out if this is a $5 or $50 or ? book, given the not-so-good condition.

Antique Settee and Two Matching Chairs

Category
Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

Two chairs, one settee.  Strange carvings: flower and zig, zag pattern.  No nails, pegs some glue. Irregularities on short spindles (barrels), and on the rounded arms and pedement at top of each piece-This leads me to believe the entire piece is hand-made, and hand-carved. I  do not know the style, or the age.  The same features that are on the chair is on the settee (small sofa-looks like a couch in picture, but is rather short)Owner states "it came from a church in Boston area.  Local dealer stated it is not an American piece, but rather of an European origin. Please help!
