This watch is in excellent condition. It is stainless steel with a smooth gold bezel. It has all its original parts except for the wrist band and has never been repaired or worked on. It still keeps accurate time. The engraving at the 12 o'clock lug says Registered Design 1600 and the engraving at the 6 o'clock lug is 880340. The certification guarantee booklet is also in excellent condition. It only has a slight crease down the middle and the top right hand corner is bent. The paper is not faded and there are no marks inside the booklet. The certification number written on it is HR915-35-49 and dated for 1963.
I've read that it is extremely rare to have a vintage Rolex with its original warranty booklet and it's even more rare that they are both from the same year.
All I could find about this desk was online. I found a 1914 Chicago paper ad that sold desks like this one, but smaller, from the Revell Co. I read the story of how the company founder died from a fall from his 7th floor apartment in the Drake Hotel.
