Wood frame, shadow-box style - the item is 3-dimensional, I believe it's pressed plastic. It's sealed with paper in the back, so I don't want to take it apart.

Description

Colclough White Gilt Tea Cup & Saucer 5879 H

White background with heavily decorated floral gilt on this beautiful antique Colclough set. The cup and saucer are in pristine condition.

I understand the backstamp is from H. J. Colclough Longton prior to the establishment of Colclough China Ltd in 1937, and the pattern number 5879 H. I read that the backstamp resembles those used from 1935-1937 by H.J.Colclough.

The cup measures almost 3" high and is 3 1/2" wide. The saucer measures 5 1/2" diameter with a rounded edge.

This is a beautiful set lavishly decorated in gold floral gilt..
