Windsor Chair

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

Windsor chair of unknown origin. There appears to have been a maker's tag on the bottom at one point, but it is missing now. Stands about 34.5" tall, 23" wide. A bit of a crack starting along one small section of the back, as shown in photo. Otherwise, good condition.

very large inlaid display cabinet

Category
Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

I got a very large display cabinet some time ago and I am trying to find more information on it or even a ball park range on what it may be worth. It's a very large cabinet, takes up a wall by itself and over 8ft in height (I have all of the dimensions, a bit on the rough side). It has original brass fixtures on it, and inlaid glass for the display part. Far as I can tell it's all original with minor damage from what I assume is wear and tear or moving and improper storage for a short while (neighbor I bought it from had it in a non insolated shed more or less for a while).

It comes apart into three sections; top or crown, middle where the display windows are and the bottom where the drawers are. I have not yet found a maker mark or anything to point out a date on it.. I'm not sure of the type of wood either. I can get more images if people need them though.

Over all its 87 inches tall and 90in length wise. Middle section is as follows 90 L x 14 1/2 W x 41 H Bottom is as follows 90 L x 23 W x 32 H

Desk

Category
Furniture
Condition
Fair
Description

This is a desk. I am not sure how old it is or what it was used for.

All the pieces are present. One door has been taken off and the original hinges are still attached to the side. There is minor damage caused by someone who tried to move it as one piece.

There are three main pieces. Two sides and the central desk.

The left side has the door removed and contains sliding draws of varying heights. The right side has the door attached and two large draws and these draws are segmented. Each side has a draw at the top which is separate to the draws contained behind the doors. These draws are lined with green felt. The tops of the sides lift up and contain compartments lined with green felt.

The central part attaches to the sides by sitting on a small rail and the screwed into place this draw is not lined with felt. There is a “splash back” for want of better terminology, that attaches to the central part when everything is assembled. The pieces are heavy and the timber looks great.

In the photos I have images that include measurements.

I would like to know what this desk may have been used for please. I would like to have it restored if it is valuable. Any information is appreciated.

W.H. Gunlocke swivel chair

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

Hello everyone! I have a W.H. Gunlocke swivel chair. It has no tags to identify the era that it was made. Instead, it has the company name branded on the bottom. On the bottom of the front rim, the number 798 is branded into it. Gunlocke has no idea when it was made so I'm guessing the very early part of the 20th century. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
