This painting was acquired by my grandfather while stationed in Japan, after WWII. Where he was told it was painted by a Mr. Kenzo Okada in the late 1920's while Mr. Okada attended the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. The painting is 10 1/2 x 24 inches in size,in very good condition. It shows age discoloration on back only. And has a small triangle shaped craked at left edge that is only visiable from back side. It is an original oil painting. It is also housed in a ceramic egded wooden frame, the ceramic designs are crumbling off due too age. I am looking to sell this painting but have no idea of it's collectors value.
In my opinion it looked close to perfect in condition - no cracks or fractures, perfect floral picture, no chips. Now it is smashed from falling during our earthquake in February 2011. We would love to get some sort of idea about replacement value in order to notify our insurers.
