I was finally able to determine that these are NOT dogs but foxes after looking at many photos on the Internet. These were brought back to this country from Japan after the end of WWII. I would like to know if anyone recognizes the mark on the back? I would also like to know the age and value of the pair. They measure 7" high and are in perfect condition.
the book was passed down to me and is in Excellet condion. i can always send you more pic if you need to see the contion better. also if you have any questions u can email me [email protected].
This print was given to us by an elderly friend as appreciation for our help. Her late husband brought this back home from Japan at the end of WWII. This wood block print was hidden behind a rather ordinary watercolor and was discovered quite by accident. Because it was kept from the light through the years, the colors are still quite vibrant. We would love to learn more about this medium and the artist if possible as well as some idea of it's value.
