This piece was another item I found out in the middle of nowhere in Oregon. It is in great condition and has wonderful drawings all around. The drawings are cut into the sides as is the mark on the bottom.
The table, a Duncan Phyfe style I believe, is drop-leaf table with four chairs. The table has been in the family at least since the 1950s, and maybe earlier. The table includes four chairs with beautiful handcrafted needlepoint cushions.
The table and chairs are in good condition but not perfect. In the smallest configuration, the table measures 42” wide by 26” long by 30” high. With the drop leaves up, the length is 57”. With the three 14” leaves in place, the length is 99”. The table features three pedestal bases which give support for the extended length.
The table is stamped “Jefferson Woodworking Company” and has the number 432 stamped on a slide.
well the table and chairs has been in the family sence 1900 to 1920 some where in there they bought it new back then and it has been passed down ever sence then all the way down to me but it is in very good shape in has the normal wear on it but no burn spots, dings, dents or galuges but one chair does need to be reglued in one spot but i want to take it to someone whoe deals with old furniture like this. im trying to put pics up and it wount let me but i do have pics of it just trying to put them up. for the mean time its on craigslist go to corpus christi then antiques and look for the jefferson wood working Co there are pics not the best but till i figure out how to on hear. another thing it still has on it it has where the crafter of the table and inspector has signed it also it has stayed on through all these years.
