I am trying to find out any information on this painting & it's value possible. It's signed H. Hargrove on the lower left and all I see on the back is a sticker on the frame that says 007199 I don't know if that is relevent or not to the painting? I believe it is canvas and oil but I don't know enough about art to bet on it...please help!!!
This is a lovely example of Meriden early work has beautiful scalloped edges with filigree work done on the scallops I believe this is a piece that was ordered by the family and is know as black silver as its contents are just about 100% pure silver. These pieces are usually passed down through the family but it is these points i wish to check on for sure. see pictures below. i am looking for a value on this piece. The enameled dish would need to be re enameled as it has worn through on two spots. The dish on the whole is in very good condition.I would like to sell it once i can establish its worth.
Found it near a dumpster last week. It had a piece of paper beside it that said Austraila/New Zealand. It has many small details in it with buffalo and horses and chinese people in canoes
