Item has a brass ball handle at top and tip at bottom. Was told it was called a paper cane by someone familiar with walking sticks but they had no further info. It appears to be round paper rings placed over a flexible piece of matal and then varnished to look like wood. Any info would be appreciated
Was told it came from Siam. Bought from an Antique dealer that was a personal friend of the family. Sold it to me a near cost. Antique dealer was located in Quoge, NY. I saw the same item(s) displayed in the Museum of Natural History...only not as good! Through my own investigation, this is called a Ganesha, and is of Hindu origin. This item was created in the 6th. or 7th. century originally.
I have had the hutch for several years and really know nothing about it. All of the glass is original all of the doors open with the original key. This piece of furniture is really nice, and I would like to know the value of it and maybe some history on it.
This stuffed Donald Duck doll is very dirty, missing a button, has a split seam in tail, and the wire is poking through on a foot. But it seems to have a good, solid foundation and might be restored nicely. It is made of different fabrics over a wire frame, which appear to be velvet on the bottom and head, felt on the feet, legs, and bill, and perhaps chenille for the jacket and cap. There is also a a hard disc shape in the tail, like it might have been a squeaky toy at some point. The smile and eyebrows and nostrils appear to have been painted on, rather amateurishly. Maybe they weren't on the original?
