Barometer

Category
Scientific Instruments
Condition
Good
Description

Barometer - has no physical marking on it to identify the maker or anything else. Tried finding something similar on line with negative results. The only possible as to manufacturer may be the box it was being stored in. See photo below of item and printing from front of box. Not sure if box has anything to do with it or not, but it is the only lead we may have.

This figurine has been standing in my grandfathers cellar for many years. I am not sure where it originated from or how he obtained it. I would like to find out the value of this piece and any other information about it. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Mystery Desert Landscape Painting

Category
Fine Art
Condition
Good
Description

This painting was given to me as a gift, and therefore I have very little solid information about it. It was given to me by a man who use to run an art gallary in Colorado. He said this painting was one of several that were willed to him by one of his clients from Houston, Texas, and that this client had a large collection of paintings from famous artists from the 1940's and 50's. It's a plain canvas that has not been strected or framed. Since I work at an art museum, if it is worth something I can have that done pretty easily. There are a couple slight cracks in the paint, and even though the signature is clearly visibile, I haven't been able to tell what it says. There is also an Art Finds Internation Registry sticker on the back, with the registration number 086137-D10-025

1909 Olympia Beer Painting

Category
Other
Condition
Good
Description

We recently purchased this item at a local garage sale.  I purchased it because I liked it but, after looking at it, my wife believes that it is an actual painting instead of a litho like I thought.  The colors are extremely faded compared to the examples we found online but we all know there are alot of ways to falsely age items.  Upon doing some research, my wife learned that similar items were part of an advertising campaign for Olympia Beer in 1908-1910 prior to prohibition.  There was an edition of litho reprints done in the 70's also.  My piece appears to be on canvas, painted in oil, attached to a wooden canvas square, and framed in a wooden frame.  We have searched the painting for some type of identifying feature but have not been able to find anything such as a serial number or artist's signature.  We would appreciate any information you could offer as well as an approximate value if available.
