Long Description
Both knobs have hummingbirds on them. They are connected. (sorry I don't know much about antiques OR doorknobs) They are different sizes. I have more pictures but I'm having a hard time uploading them because of the size restrictions.
History
--The first doorknobs were patented in 1851 by John Pepper. A few years later, the first doorknob factory was opened and it was called "The Mineral Knob Co." and was owned by Mr. Cornelius Erwin, one of the well known entrepreneurs of the team of Russell and Erwin of the Corbin Lock company.--

Re: Russell and Erwin Hummingbird Doorknobs
Amazing knobs! My 1894 Victorian has Russel and Erwin knobs through out(1891 rose pattern) and R and E have a great demand for collectors and detail on yours is great.
Yours looks to be brass, used for interior doors, such as parlor doors.
