this desk used to be flat black then i had it send in to get restored because back in the day they used to paint all furniture black it is in very good shape

this desk was my great grandmothers then it was given to my mother then to me
These pieces are generally whats called Jacobean Revival, most were pre WW2 pieces . Most were made in England, but similar pieces were made in the USA as well. Demand for small desks have been on the upswing, due to the fact one can use then with flat screen computers or lap tops. Most at auction sell for under $200.00
That's what they often go for at auction, which would be considered a "Wholesale Value". I only quote Auction values as it is the clearest determination of the current market and gives a baseline for what you can expect to get if you had to sell right away.
An appraisal for replacement value would be of course much more. Values constantly change following the economy and demographics. Right now we have three issues at work, a terrible economy, a glut in the market of 20th century furniture due to estate clearances of the World War two generation and the baby Boom generation downsizing.
